2015 was an amazing year for Dàimh. We started the year by picking up the award for Best Folk Band in Europe at the Folkherbst competition in Plauen, Germany, and finished the year by being named Folk Band of the Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards in Dundee!

In between, we recorded a new album, The Hebridean Sessions, which has been our fastest selling album to date. We also embarked on our first tour of America, going coast to coast with gigs in New York City all the way to San Francisco.

We kick off 2016 with a special concert at Celtic Connections celebrating fifteen years since our first album, Moidart to Mabou. We’ve invited seven Gaelic singers that have sung, toured and recorded with us over these years for a special one-off evening of songs. Click on the link to read an in-depth article from the Sunday Herald about the band..the conclusion being most eloquent description of what ‘Dàimh actually means.

We have two more tours in the US to look forward to this year with the first one starting at the end of February (check out our website for dates). We also have a few other exciting things up our sleeve so keep up to date with Facebook, Twitter and our newsletter (we promise not to fill your emails full of junk!!!).

Here’s a wee video from our time in Uist whilst recording The Hebridean Sessions. Had to go on a bit of a diet to get us all in there…but it was worth it!

If the video hasn’t sold it for you, check out this review from Bright Young Folk.

Here’s a list of upcoming gigs…Celtic Connections, Ireland, Iceland and the U.S.A.
